OPEN HOUSE – Saturday & Sunday, 11-12 May 2024

The Mornington Peninsula Branch in conjunction with Ms Victoria Grounds
offers an opportunity to view this unique property in Mt Eliza

Take this rare chance to explore the 1930s intact waterfront holiday house, amid a faithfully reconstructed landscape of native coastal vegetation, located in the Victorian Heritage-Listed Ranelagh Estate. A simple holiday house designed by eminent architect Roy Grounds in 1937, broke with tradition, and is arguably the first ‘Modernist’ house in Australia and one in which Grounds was able to express design elements that were to be repeated throughout his fifty five year career, culminating in the Victorian Arts Centre complex in Melbourne, comprising gallery, theatre and concert hall.
