INT / NEW BOOK ON JOSSE FRANSSEN

DOCOMOMO BELGIUM

Docomomo Belgium has published a new book of their “Architects’Journeys” series, this time on architect Josse Franssen (1906–1990) and his achievements in the Brussels region. It brings to light the oeuvre and remarkable career of this architect, a man who was a staunch adherent of the principles and vision of Belgian modern architecture. His buildings and homes are distinguished by a clear and rational spatial layout, and his architectural language, which is both elegant and functional, subtly meets the requirements of each program. In numerous projects, he collaborated with contemporary sculptors and integrated their works into the facades and interior design of vestibules.
