The city of Newcastle boasts one of the state’s finest collections of commercial and civic buildings from the 1920s and 1930s.
The visit organised by the Twentieth Century Heritage Society of NSW & ACT will include the City Hall precinct, comprising a rich array of fine public and cultural buildings organised around a landscaped square, and the major business precinct concentrated around Hunter Street.
We’ll also explore the work of prominent architects such as Frederick Menckens and Frederick Romberg.
All walks will be led by the society president, Dr. Roy Lumby.
You can come along for the whole series of four walks – or just one or two if you prefer. Each walk is $35 per person.
Society members can attend all walks for a package price of just $65. So, if you’ve been thinking about it, now’s the perfect time to join up!
Dates: Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th, and Monday 7th October 2024
