Glass House Tour

We are pleased to announce we have a members-only exclusive tour of the 1957 Bill and Ruth Lucas-designed Glass House in Castelcrag.

Saturday May 11th, 10am

One of the most influential modernist houses in Sydney, the Glass House is an exceptional example of light weight experimental architecture, using an economical structure that sits above its dramatic landscape setting. Now more than 60 years old, its recent restoration is an important example of how to update mid-century architecture to ensure their ongoing survival

Peter Lonergan author of Bill Lucas Architect Utopian, and architect of the recent restoration, will speak to the group on arrival before we take small group tours around the house.

This is for members only, but members may also book for 1 non-member friend to accompany them.

Local membership is only $80 per year and ensures Docomomo can continue to advocate for and protect modernist heritage, so we appreciate your support.
