At its recent meeting the Executive Committee of Docomomo Australia expressed the wish for more involvement from members in the running of the organization. The President, Scott Robertson, and the Secretary/Treasurer/Public Officer, Louise Cox, stated that they intend to stand down from those roles to encourage younger members to participate in the important conservation work undertaken by Docomomo Australia. Vice-President (Victoria), Hannah Lewi, also expressed the desire to pull back because of other work commitments. For compliance reasons, the Public Officer must reside in NSW.
The election of new office-bearers will take place at the on-line Annual General Meeting
on Wednesday 14th June 2023.
Those interested in standing for election are encouraged to contact current members of the Executive Committee to discuss what is involved in each of the roles. Those contemplating running for Office should understand that Docomomo Australia, as a national working party of Docomomo International, subscribes to the Eindhoven/Seou
Statement, which forms the basis of Docomomo’s activities.
The Committee also wants to establish additional roles for the Committee. One is that of Social Media and Web Liaison Officer (to assist our Webmaster, Federico Passi, run the web page, the newsletter and the social media presence) and the other is that of Register Officer (to expand the Docomomo Australia Register to the status of an authoritative source of important Modern Movement places in Australia).
