BRIAN SEIDLER WALKING HOUSE TOURS AND TALK

to the new restoration of the 1950-54 Julian Rose House and to the Donna and Brian Seidler House

11am – 12.10pm

Join us for an exclusive walking tour and talk with Donna and Brian Seidler (Executive Director of Master Builders Association of NSW).

You will visit two of the three houses on the Seidler family estate, the Donna and Brian Seidler House and The Julian Rose House.

Designed by Harry Seidler and built shortly after the Rose Seidler House (1948), the Julian Rose House was completed in 1954 with the Donna and Brian Seidler House (1951), designed by Harry for his Uncle Marcus following soon after. These two rarely seen houses are located within the Seidler Estate and are just below the Rose Seidler House.

After the tour, hear from Brian Seidler and Ian Innes (Director of Heritage and Collections, SLM) about conserving modernist properties. Brian Seidler grew up in the Donna and Brian Seidler House (formerly Marcus Seidler House) and commissioned Seidler and Associates to undertake a restoration and renovation of this house in 2004. Brian recently purchased the Julian Rose House and is currently undertaking a restoration of this house.
