Intnl news: ‘Keeping it modern’ The Getty Foundation Grant for the Flaminio Stadium of Nervi

“The Getty Foundation in Los Angeles has awarded, under the International Financing Program
“Keeping it Modern”, a $ 180,000 grant to develop a conservation plan for the Flaminio Stadium
Of Rome by Pier Luigi and Antonio Nervi. The choice of the Getty Foundation rewards a proposal presented
in March 2017 from the Department of Structural Engineering and Geotechnics of the Sapienza University of Rome, by the Pier Luigi Nervi Project Association (PLN Project) and by Docomomo Italy, in agreement with Rome Capital.

The conservation plan of the Flaminio Stadium will be aimed at promoting, supporting and directing the next
Recovery plan, respecting the original nerve conception and the original stage function
And a multi-purpose sports facility. It will then be the result of a joint work of the working group
Assisted by an international scientific committee, which also includes experts in the history of architecture,
Design of sports facilities, preservation of modern and engineering of buildings.”
