Evenings with DADo: Mies on Scene (SOLD OUT)

Wed September 28th @ 18:30 pm- 20:30 pm

About

Mies on Scene is a lyrical documentary framing the original 1929 construction and ultimate 1986 reconstruction of The Barcelona Pavilion. Originally intended as a temporary structure for the German Pavilion at Barcelona’s International Exposition following the end of WWI, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich’s design emulated a profound modernity – at once revolutionary whilst simultaneously rooted in their country’s classical history.

An introductory talk by architect and academic Professor Alan Pert, Deputy Dean of Architecture at University of Melbourne will be preempt the film which will commence at 7pm.

‘Evenings with DADo’ offer an intimate commingling of film and conversation centered around diverse historical and contemporary stories of architecture, design, landscape and urbanism. Feature-length films, documentaries, shorts and animations all find a home in Robin Boyd’s living room at ‘Walsh Street’. DADo welcomes Thandi Paterson as curator of the 22/23 program.
