Bill Lucas (1924-2001) is an architectural enigma and one of Sydney’s most influential modern architects who, with fellow student and wife Ruth, created a few of the icons of Australian architecture. Moreover, they created an environment where as architects, they could engage with community, build community and bring things and experiences that enriched community. Through the curatorial lens of his friends and collaborators, Julie Cracknell and Peter Lonergan, Bill Lucas: Architect Utopian is a unique opportunity for Melbourne audiences to explore an extensive archive of original drawings, artworks, observations and writings. We’re thrilled to partner with Cracknell & Lonergan Architects, Ursula Chandler Architects and Tin Sheds Gallery, University of Sydney, to bring Bill Lucas: Architect Utopian – a stunning and significant exhibition to Melbourne audiences. Exhibition General Attendance – Friday 19 August 2022 – Wednesday 31 August 2022 1pm – 5pm daily Tickets: Free to attend, bookings required.
