The 8th volume of the ‘Modern Notebooks’ series by Docomomo Greece, titled “Modern Interiors in Greece” is out!
Kostas Tsiambaos (ed.), Modern Interiors in Greece (Athens: Futura, 2024)
If architecture as creation concerns first and foremost the design of a ‘shell’, the experience of architecture concerns mainly its interior space. And if the building shell is the protective framework of life, the interior of the shell is life itself. Modern architecture, which sought to remove everything superfluous from the interior space, created interiors of particular quality that placed the new principles and values of modernity in the context of modern life.
The publication aims to provide a contemporary, targeted and in-depth discussion on interior space in modern Greek architecture.
